Shaftesbury Home Grown Aims

Shaftesbury Home Grown is a community project that is bringing people together to grow and produce food locally

Our aim is to:

• Grow as much of our daily diet as possible from fields around Shaftesbury.
• Produce food that is at a fair price, of good flavour and high quality.
• Protect the environment by growing food as naturally as possible
• Reduce the amount of food miles and packaging used to bring food into the town
• Encourage local people to grow, buy and eat locally-grown food
• Give people the opportunity to volunteer and learn about growing food for themselves
• Have fun working together outdoors

Shaftesbury Home Grown has a four acre field in Enmore Green and we have started to plant our first crops for harvest in 2010.
